The Robert Foley 2018 The Griffin Red is ultra purple in color, this proprietary red blend offers complex aromas of wild berries, camphor and violet blossoms. Expansive black cherry flavors couple with a well-balanced acidity and evenly gripping tannin. A mouthful of red wine! The Griffin is a blend of 32% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Petite Sirah, 10% Petit Verdot, 10% Syrah, 9% Charbono. The blend changes every vintage, so stock up if you find a favorite, as next year’s bottle will be a surprise.

A winemaker’s dream is to be artistically free to combine characters into wine that is purely hedonic and non-compliant with varietal regulations, so the Griffin's blend will change with every vintage. A pleasure from nose to finish, it has a very aromatic nose, followed by a lush mouthfeel and a medium to full bodied palate If you like blends like Orin Swift's The Prisoner or Buoncristiani's O.P.C., this one is a must-have.”
