Details 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County
$49.99Details 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County
A new project from the owners of Sinegal winery, Details is a bold Cabernet Sauvignon that blends Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from Sonoma County. This vintage features fruit from the AVA’s of Sonoma Valley, Knights Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek, and Chalk Hill.
93 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Coming from Sonoma and based on 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and smaller amounts of Petit Verdot, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Details is a smoking bottle of wine, as well as an incredible value. Darker berries, currants, scorched earth, lead pencil, and hints of chocolate all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a plush, layered mouthfeel, velvety tannins, and a great finish. It's from Sonoma but will stand toe to toe with any number of Napa Cabernet Sauvignons that run two to three times the price."
92 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Details is a dense, potent wine. Succulent red cherry, plum, gravel, incense, licorice and dried herbs are all amplified in this rich, heady Cabernet Sauvignon. All the elements are so well balanced. This is a hugely promising wine from Sinegal. The 2021 is not as dense as some other vintages, but that’s not an issue with these vineyard sites."
Each specific appellation was chosen for its unique composition and contribution to the overall blend. The majority of this vintage hails from the Sonoma Valley AVA, from a premier eastern hillside site, along the Mayacamas Mountains behind Oakville. We wanted to balance the masculine structure with softer feminine qualities to arrive at a truly approachable wine when young, while improving with age—if you have the patience to wait. The tension between immediate versus delayed gratification.
