95 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Pinot Noir Ferrington is resinous with medicinal herbs, black cherry fruit, and beet root. The palate is full and rounded with forward fruit, leading into savory notes of raspberry seed, wooded spice, and red plum skin. More structured in style, allow for a year or two in bottle and drink over the following 15 or so years..,,,With the wines made by Matt Courtney, this Russian River estate continues to make some of the best wines in the vintage."
92 Points Wine Spectator: "Lusciously spiced, with lively cherry tart and dried raspberry flavors, backed by crunchy acidity. Mocha hints emerge midpalate, leading to a finish flush with creamy richness. Drink now through 2024. 556 cases made."
92 Points Robert Parker: "Pale ruby-purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard has earthy aromas of dried herbs, damp soil and mushroom powder with notes of graphite, dried flowers and tea leaves over a core of crunchy blackberries and cranberries. The palate is medium-bodied and intensely minerally, with very juicy, fresh fruit character, finishing a tad coiled."
The Ferrington Vineyard Pinot Noir is a dark and intense wine from one of the most historic vineyards in the famously cool Anderson Valley. On the nose, the wine shows great complexity with notes of brambly wild berry, forest floor, cola, pencil shavings, and blackberry preserves, backed up with classic secondary aromas of ground cinnamon, cedar, and Griotte cherry. The intensely floral nose is accompanied by flavors of bright red raspberry, black pepper, toasted herbs, and tart bing cherries. The mid-palate is silky and rich, leading into a long, layered finish. READ LESS
